STEP–1 SCALE SOFTENING PROCESS
Scale softening chemical MAX–001 is an alkaline chemical formulated by using superior quality wetting agents. It is to be used @5–7% of the total volume of circulating water at the time of scale softening. For example, if the system volume is 100 ltrs, 5–7 kgs of MAX-001 should be added. It should be circulated for a period of about 1 hour. During this process, if it is possible, increase the temperature of the circulating liquid to about 85*C by either indirect heating or by direct steam injection. However, this is not mandatory. Drain the entire liquid after 1 hour of circulation and flush with fresh water until the PH drops to 7.0. Fill fresh water to the system to the desired level for the second process.
STEP–2 SCALE REMOVAL PROCESS
Descaling chemical MAX–002 has mineral acid as the base. The product has been formulated using high-quality inhibitors rendering it safe for GI, Copper, MS, SS, “ O “ rings, PVC and rubber parts etc. However, it is to be noted that this chemical is highly reactive with Aluminium. It is to be used @ 15–20% of the total volume of circulating water at the time of descaling. For example, if the system volume is 100 ltrs, 15–20 kgs of MAX–002 should be added. However, MAX–002 should be added gradually. Add about 5% quantity initially and keep on adding from time to time to maintain a minimum of 5% concentration. During this process, foam generation will be noticed. This is a sign that descaling process is progressing well. Generally, it will take about 2–3 hours for completion of the process. Careful control should be exercised by monitoring the PH level of the circulating liquid. After foaming stops, check the PH and keep circulating. Continue this process till a stable PH value is achieved. Drain the entire liquid and flush with fresh water until the PH comes down to 7-8. Fill fresh water in the system to the desired level for the third and last process.
STEP–3 PASSIVATION PROCESS
Passivation chemical MAX–003 is an alkaline chemical formulated with film-forming inhibitors to achieve complete passivation after the descaling process. It is to be added @ 5–7% of the total volume of circulating water at the time of passivation. For example, if the system volume is 100 ltrs, 5 kgs of MAX–003 should be added. It should be circulated for a period of about half an hour. Finally, the passivation chemical can be left in the system as it acts as an inhibitor. The equipment is now ready to put back in operation.
